Thursday nights are not the usual night for date nights but on October 20th it was an absolutely perfect evening. Matt Sellick has graced Thunder Bay with his Flamenco tuneage many times before but this last show simply blew me away.
Matt has accompanied by his friend and fellow Flamenco guitarists, Dennis Duffin. Dennis is from Toronto and is in town to do some recording and so they decided to put on Noche Flamenca. The show was full of so much energy and excitement that made it feel very intimate like you were hanging out with Matt and Dennis while they played around having fun and showing off. While the music Matt has written himself is wonderful, it was a unique opportunity to hear some of the music that came straight from Spain. Their music told a story that left a craving to see these places burning in me, I would definitely love to see Spain and the beauty that shows so clearly in their music.
I have never been so happy that I managed to find a babysitter on a Thursday night. It was one of the best performances I have seen and was totally taken over by the music that Matt and Dennis produced. I would love to see more from these two incredible Flamenco guitarists.
Welcome to Thunder Bay Dennis and thank you to you and Matt for an incredible experience!
